Homes for Sale Philippines

I have been renting apartments since I was in college. I think it’s high time that I look for a permanent home…a place that I can call my own…

I imagine my home to be in a secured village within the suburbs of Quezon City, “The City of Stars”. I want to live close to major means of transportation such as the MRT and the bus lines. I want my own garage and gate. A little garden would be nice too. I don’t need a lot of rooms…just the necessary parts of a house like a bedroom or two, a kitchen, a bathroom, a dining room and a living room. Just a small house which I won’t have any trouble furnishing would be just fine.

I will paint the walls beige because according to feng shui, that’s the safest of all colors - it’s not bad but it’s not the best color either. It’s just plain safe. Once I decide to to activate all the kuas to increase my luck then I can use the best color for each area. Mind you, that’s costly. And second of all, given that I am not an expert on feng shui yet, I might use the wrong colors and in feng shui, that spells bad luck.  In the meantime, I will work with what’s safe. Yes, safe is good!

Right now I have Php 60,000 in my bank. I figure, something that costs around less than Php 500,000 would only require a very minimal downpayment, right? Needless to say, I ought to find a house which can fit my range. After all, I just want a quiet neighborhood where I can enjoy a simple lifestyle. No trucks passing by at two in the morning so I don’t have to feel the vibrations on my bedroom floor. No honking cars during the morning rush hour because it’s really, really crucial that I get continuous eight hours of sleep, lest I’ll be grumpy all day! No “akyat-bahay” gangs or robbers at night. No nosy neighbors. Just a private, quiet, simple, secured home is all I am looking for.

And so begins my search

Quezon City Area Php 1.79 million - LA 50sq.m FA 84sq.m 3br, 2t&b, 20% dp, 1yr to pay, nr SM North. 418-1822

1,790,000 x 20% = Php 358,000…Hmmm…Or is that 20% downpayment 1 year to pay? Well, that’s still Php 29,833.33 every month. So,  Quezon City Area Php 1.79 million

Rizal Php 350,000 - LA 33sq.m, P150T dp, bal 17yrs, thru Pag-IBIG, Carisa Homes. 541-2936

I don’t have a Pag-IBIG account. And besides, Rizal is way too far from civilization. Although, it’s just 30 minutes away from Commonwealth Avenue, I would still have to squeeze through the traffic first before I can count those 30 minutes. So, Rizal Php 350,000

Pasay Php 4.5 million - LA 56sq.m FA 138sq.m, 3stry, 6br, 3t&b, w/ tub, grage, 30% dp 10mos, bank loan. 829-9204

Too “squatter-ish” for my taste. If that’s even a word! What I meant was, I don’t want to live in a place surrounded by squatters areas because that would be like financial suicide. Pasay borders around areas which are mostly occupied by squatters. Who lives in the squatters areas? Thieves, con artists, swindlers. Therefore, Pasay Php 4.5 million

Antipolo Php 1.7 million - LA 150sq.m FA 70sq.m, 2stry, 20% dp.272-5350

Too risky. I don’t want to wake up one day and realize that I couldn’t move because my 12′x15′ walls have collapsed on top of me or that suddenly, my house would be riding on a landslide down a steep slope. Hello! Cherry Hills, remember? So, Antipolo Php 1.7 million

Forbes Php 160 million - (neg) LA 2346sq.m, 4br, den, pool, newly renovated, more hses avbl. 833-5194

One Hundred Sixty freakin’ Million? Who needs a freakin’ pool anyway?! Fuck Forbes

Payatas Php 350,000 - (neg) LA 120sq.m FA 80sq.m, 2br, garage, Payatas A. 428-5371

I have to admit…I underestimated the ingenuity of these squatters. Selling a house and lot which, in the first place, isn’t theirs? If that isn’t smart, then what is? But I have to say, it is quite a tempting offer…

payatas

A house on the hills…free groceries…free furniture…free clothes and shoes…a continuous source of income…I’ll even have my own garage! How about that! Not bad, right? I would just have to deal with the stench…As the saying goes…“Kung maikli ang kumot, matuto kang mamaluktot” (If the blanket is short, learn how to contortor something like that).

SusmaryosepI don’t have Php 350,000! Great! I can’t even afford a house in Payatas! Just great!

Payatas Php 350,000

And so ends my search…
