UP Narra Dorm

The U.P. Narra Residence Hall caught fire hours after UP kicked off its Centennial Celebration. The blaze not only burned down the old walls and rusty windows, but it also cheated underprivileged students out of their low-cost board and lodging.

“Insp. Arnel Ramilo, operations chief of the Quezon City Fire Department, said the fire started at 4:14 a.m. Because of the age and the type of building materials, the fire quickly engulfed the entire establishment. ‘Fortunately, we were able to contain it before it could spread to nearby buildings,’ Ramilo told the Inquirer. He added that no one was hurt in the incident as the building had been deserted since October…According to a report from the UP Police, however, “faulty electrical wiring“ could have ignited the fire.”

Ok let’s pretend we’re just a bunch of 4-year-olds…

BAKA fixed wiring…siguro may isang magaling na Electrical Eng’g student na pinilit ayusin ang sirang wiring sa room niya dahil tinuturo ito sa kanilang klase.

BAKA cords and plugs…dahil konti lang ang saksakan sa isang kwarto, kulang ito para sa lahat ng mga gumagamit ng electricity para sa mga appliances kaya baka naglagay ang magaling na estudyante ng extension cord at ito ay ginamit ng roomates nya at eventually, nagcause ng overload…pumutok…AYUN…SUNOOOOG!

BAKA lamps at light fixtures…na nakalimutang patayin ni magaling na estudyante bago sya umalis ng Narra…sobrang init na dahil nung October pa sya nakasindi…ayun…pumutOK!

BAKA switches, receptacles, and outlets…nginatngat ng mga ipis at daga ang wiring ng switches at outlets kaya nung may nagsaksak eh PUMUTOK!…Sino kaya yun?!

BAKA fuses, circuit breakers…dahil sobrang tanda na ng building ay marami na itong sira ngunit hindi napalitan kaya AYUN…BUMIGAY!

KASI SABI NI…Chancellor basta sabihin faulty wiring eh…

For those of you who are not aware…U.P. allegedly plans to build an annex for the U.P. Integrated School. It is not such a bad idea…in fact it is quite noble of U.P. to sacrifice the income they’re getting from the dorm’s lodging  fees for the sake of the U.P.I.S students. 

And again, let’s pretend that we’re just a bunch of 4-year-olds, shall we?

U.P. didn’t stage the fire and fabricate the “faulty wiring story”. Period.

This is the “only area” of Narra that was burned…I don’t wish to sound suspicious…but this is actually the part facing Balara…cross that street and you’ll be standing right in front of U.PI.S:) Hmmm…How convenient!
